your

big day

Your love story is as unique as your fingerprints, and your wedding portrait should reflect that. Gone are the days of overly saturated generic wedding portraits that do little to capture the true essence of your romance.

Discover the process

The

Consultation:

This is where I get to learn all about you!

Tell me about your love, how you met, what made you realize that this person is the one. My goal when painting your portrait is to capture the essence of your love story and immortalize it in paint.

Live wedding painting doesn’t need to be restricted to just a wide angle shot of the ceremony or reception space, (although if you feel that thats the best fit for you I will gladly make it happen!)

Want your first look forever captured in black and white to hang over your fire place? no problem.

Want the aftermath of your first bite of cake painted 3ft tall on the wall of your kitchen? I’ve got you.

Tell me what your vision is and we can work together to create a work of art that speaks to you.

This is also when we will break down all the nitty gritty logistics of your day, such as where, when, and how to best achieve the look we are going for.

Once I have a solid grasp on your concept, the contract is signed and a 25% deposit is paid in order to secure your date (along with any travel fees if applicable). Then it’s off to the studio to do the preparatory work!

The

Preparation:

Don’t wing it on your wedding day.

I believe that proper preparation ensures a seamless execution on your big day, leading to an effortlessly beautiful work of art coming to life before your very eyes.

Once we have settled on a cohesive vision for your portrait during the consultation, I will begin the necessary prep work for your piece. This includes, but is not limited to, compositional sketches, color pallets, lighting schemes, fine tuning the vibe, etc. This allows for us to both be on the same page about the painting ahead of time so that when your big day comes, all you need to do is focus on being in love.

I will share all of the preparatory work with you in the weeks leading up to the weddings so that you can provide your input on the finalized color pallets, composition, size, etc. This is also when the remainder of the deposit is paid. Then it’s just a matter of waiting for the big day to arrive!

The Big day:

Congratulations! It’s finally here!

On the day of your wedding I will arrive, with a pre-toned canvas and all of my paints in tow, approximately 2 hours before your desired moment. This is when I will do all of my setup, mix my paints, lay out my compositional lines, and get started laying in the general value hierarchy of the piece.

When it comes time to capture the moment of your choice, be it the first kiss, first dance, cake cutting, or whatever else you can dream of, I will meet you in your desired location and take a range of reference photos to make sure that I have everything I need in order to translate your special moment onto the canvas.

After some quick tweaks in photoshop, I will take my reference photos and begin on your painting! Your guests are welcome to watch the work unfold, stop to chat, or even lay in a few brushstrokes if they’re feeling confident. I will paint for an additional 4-6 hours through your reception before revealing the evenings progress to you, and then taking the painting home for those special finishing touches.

The honeymoon:

You kissed and rode off into the sunset, now what?

Once the champagne has all been popped, your bridesmaids have kicked off their heels for the night, and you have gotten to take a look at your special moment taking shape in paint, I take the work back to my studio for a little extra magic!

While you and your partner are off on your honeymoon getting to know your new life together, your painting and I will be in the studio getting to know each other a little better as well. Glazing, toning, pushing contrast, and refining all of those extra special details from the twinkle in their eye to the lace on your dress all happens during your paintings honeymoon phase.

Oil painting’s exceptionality lies in the fact that it can be reworked endlessly over time, and while I do strive to get your painting back to you in a timely manner, this is the time I get to really make your moment shine.

Once everything is just right, and has had adequate time to dry, I will send a photo for your final approval, sign and authenticate the work, and securely package it for shipping or pickup. Then it’s yours to cherish, till death do you part
